We know for years now, all pet travel is not simple or the same. Every family has their own plans, ideas and requirements on their pets travel. Fortunately for our clients, you are not a number on a folder or just an email needing answering. You, your plans and your pets needs are taken into account when we discuss logistics for your move.
Remember, this is about your new journey and how we can help!
trained pet handlers
These are the guys who see the goodbye for now tears, and who also get to see the happy tears. Our pet handlers know how best to handle those difficult pets who might not yet be ready to say goodbye, they have become pros at handling the kitties who would prefer to be hiding under the bed and for the dogs who are not so sure of strangers. They are patient and understanding because they know how difficult this can be.
“Home is wherever my pet is.”
start to finish assistance
Once the pets file is opened on our system, we work with your vets, with the labs, with the airlines, and our destination agents to ensure smooth sailing for everyone. We stress about the documents, blood test results, and the endorsements probably more than you would, as know how critical these elements are for proper travel.
specialised knowledge with snub nosed pets
They snore, they drool and they make a weird noise when they wag that stumpy tails, but we love those squished faces. From consultant to pet handler, we know how to best care and transport our beloved snub-nosed babies. We have in depth understanding of the Brachycephalic breeds, especially those that suffer from BOAS.
destination agents
Finally, unlike some of our competitors, we offer a full door to door service. We believe in the full package. Its not fish without the “and chips” part.
We have trusted and approved international destination agents that we work with to see the babies home on the other side. Some of them, we have been working with for years and have built amazing relationships with. they keep us up to date on the babies and what is happening on the destination side.
Testimonials
From our Recent Flyers
Transporting a family pet during pandemic era flight and cargo restrictions was a challenge – especially as our first attempted transport was thwarted by incorrect veterinary documentation, resulting in a three month delay. Louise Benjamin did a sterling job in keeping us in the loop and ensuring all the documents were present and correct, and our 6kg mutt finally arrived safely, and in good health, a couple of weeks ago.
Eamon McLoughlin
Jet Pets was an absolute pleasure to have as our doggy relocation agent. Working with both Louise and River in arranging and finalising our small Jack Russel’s relocation to the Netherlands was effortless. The heat wave in Europe caused the flight for our dog to be postponed by more than a week. Jet Pets made sure that our little one was comfortable and spoiled while waiting for her flight. We got pictures daily and could see she was happy and spoiled. Cherrie (our little dog) returned to her new home in the Netherlands full of energy and with the exact same personality. Thanks Guys.
We care for them like our own.
Frequently Asked
WHAT HAPPENS WITH THEIR LEADS/ COLLARS?
We recommend that you keep them. We can attach them to the crate but we cannot guarantee that they will make the trip to the other side, it might be removed by the cargo team, or it might be bumped off.
MUST I SEND FOOD AND WATER?
Please provide one portion of food per pet, (no more than 300g of dry food in a marked ziplock bag) this is in the event of any delays and stopovers. The cargo crew will always make sure their water bowls are filled, before they leave, during stopovers and at arrival airport.
CAN I GET PICTURES AT THE STOPOVER?
We need to request this early on. Unfortunately with the time differences or weekend relocations, this can be very difficult. Certain airlines such as Emirates and Qatar do not allow photos in their pet hotels (this is because they are in the middle east)
IS SEDATION ALLOWED/ WHAT IF THEY HAVE MEDICATION?
There is no Sedation policy, pets are not allowed to be sedated during travel. If the pets seem drowsy or sleeping during check in they will not allow the pets on flight. we recommended Calm-eze or Nutri-calms for the trip. This is an OTC natural calming aid. If we are travelling with medication, we must have a vet letter confirming the brand, dosage, manufacture, and the pet’s details. This must be on a vet letter, that is signed and stamped.
WHAT CAN I PACK IN FOR THEM WHEN THEY FLY?
They will be travelling with the comfort travel mattress in their crates. You are welcome to give a small blanket, pillow case, or old t-shirt as well. This is so that they have the smell of home close to them, this does help ease anxiety and calm their nerves.
ARE THEY ALLOWED TOYS OR TREATS?
No, airline regulations unfortunately do not allow for any toys or “chewies” in their crates. This is for safety purposes.
“Booking my flights”
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN TO PICK THEM UP/ WHO TELLS ME WHAT IS HAPPENING?
I am your main point of contact throughout the whole move, from start to finish. When the babies land, our affiliated agent abroad will confirm the time and exactly where to go. Usually this happens the day before or the morning of. They will make contact via email or via phone. Home deliveries will be discussed and invoiced well before the time
DOES ANYONE CHECK UP ON THEM?
During flight; No, because they are flying as manifest cargo, there is no one in the hold with them. This is also why we do not allow treats during flight. during stopovers; yes, there are vets and skilled cargo crews that handle live animals during their transits and during their hotel stays.
MUST THE CRATE COME BACK TO US?
No, the crates are yours to keep. You may not leave these at the airport, as you the client will be held liable for disposal fees. You are welcome to advise the clearing agent to donate the crates, or you can take them home.
DO I GET MY ORIGINAL VET DOCUMENTS BACK?
Yes, all original documents must travel with the pets. On entry this documentation is checked and verified by customs. If you are not handed all the vet documents, please reminder your clearing agent to do so. Please do not send any KUSA documentation with. This will not be sent over. Rather keep this safe with your documents.
